After weeks of being off my feet, I’m finally able to get out of bed for about an hour at a time now. Costochondritis laid me out flat this time. (costo = ribs, chondro = cartilage, itis = inflammation) Basically, it feels like you are having an extended heart attack. I’ve been having this flare up for over six months now, and we’ve finally found the right dose of steroids and pain meds to slap the piss out of the inflammation. Thankfully, our move to Danville has been delayed a bit, because I would never have been able to handle the trip.

Well, the last round of blood tests revealed that I have hypothyroidism, which explains a hell of a lot of the symptoms I’ve been having for a very long time! Cool! Now we can get that under control, and maybe I won’t be so tired and achy all the time. But the blood tests also showed elevated white cell and immature cell count, so Doc is having me back for more testing. “I don’t want to freak you out, but it can be an indicator of leukemia” - WTF???  I’m tired of being poked and taking so many meds. I just want to get back to painting and get on my bike and RIDE!!

Being sick wears you out physically and emotionally. There are days when I’ve felt like I was at the end of my rope because no one had a clue what was wrong and I just kept getting worse. Thankfully, I have a doctor who listens and keeps digging for answers.

Now I pray to get those white cell and stem cell counts DOWN. One day at a time, one problem at a time. I WILL get back to painting and riding soon.

~~~~~~~Peaceful journeys, everyone! Namaste.~~~~~~~
