Identify this cobalt blue glass!

I recently purchased this lovely piece of cobalt blue glass with silver overlay on a trip to North Carolina. There was a tiny round sticker on the bottom that said “West Germany” – not sure if anything else was on the sticker, because when I got the piece home and unwrapped it, the sticker was gone. *sigh*

Cobalt with Silver Overlay

The overlay at the top looks like a stylized eagle head surrounded by five circles, and the intricate overlay around the body of the vase has crosses in the design, so I’m wondering if perhaps this is a candle holder for a church instead of a vase. I love a good mystery, but I also like them to be solved! :)

If anybody out there has any information on the manufacturer or country of origin, please leave a comment! Even if you know of a similar piece, let me know so I can research further. Thanks in advance for any information you could provide.

Peace,

FL and GA Fun!

Wow, I can’t believe that we are already into MARCH of this year!! I swear, the older I get, the faster time goes by…and it’s my birthday this weekend, so I guess time will be speeding up even more. I finally was able to convince John that he needed a break from work, as he’s not taken a real vacation since we got married back in 2006!

Exchanging Rings in Key West

We decided to take the Mountaineer on a shakedown run through Georgia and Florida to visit family and friends. It was a whirlwind tour, but we packed a lot of fun into the trip. How wonderful it was to sit down and look through old family photos and share stories! We sure appreciated everyone’s hospitality on the journey…so much good food, laughter, shopping, and fun. We were even able to ride a couple of small Hondas at John’s brother’s house in GA – watch for them on the video! And for me, a few minutes at the water’s edge does my soul wonders…

Here’s the video – enjoy!

Remember to keep your eyes, heart, and soul open for miracles!
