The Elder Futhark Chart

I’ve just completed designing the Elder Futhark Rune Chart for the Gift Shop. The chart is available in three different sizes, and one size is framed nicely, too!

The chart, done in soothing colors, includes a short version of Odin’s rune story, images and names of each rune and their meaning. The rune chart depicts the Elder Futhark on a series of pebbles, laid out into the three AETTs.

If you are just beginning to cast runes, and you need a gentle reminder of what each stone means without having to flip through a book, then this chart will be helpful. If you are an experienced caster, then hanging this chart in your casting room will remind you of the beauty and power of each symbol. The chart also makes a great gift for someone who has just begun rune casting!

Here’s a sneak peek! Click on the image to go to the Rune Chart in the gift shop.

I hope you celebrated the Solstice in some way! It has special meaning for me, for it means that the number of daylight hours are now growing. “Dagaz” (Dawn) is the meeting of two opposites, light and dark, and now the balance is tipping towards the light. I need the sunlight to grow, to work, to feel alive. I lived in the dark for too many years, literally and figuratively, and I find sunlight to be such a blessing! Let your light shine!

Peace and blessings to you,

Artsy Gifts!

There are certainly some interesting items showing up in the Eclectic Dawn Arts gift shop, and lots of new items, too! Whether you need a “onesie” or a bib for the baby, or a t-shirt for the dog, or a tank top to wear to yoga class, or a clock to tell you when to relax, or even a bar-b-que apron for the hubby…check out the cool nature art and photography imprinted on various useful household items, as well as on beautiful and unique gift items!

During this busy season, I am reminded how convenient it is to shop online for gifts. I don’t have to lug packages through a crowded mall, and I can compare prices without running all over town! Most of the online shops will even drop ship your items to the recipient of the gift…which means you don’t have to haul piles of packages to the Post Office, either!

Here is a sampling of what’s new in the Gift Shop! Just click on the pics to visit the shop and learn more about the item.

Crystal OM tote bagCrystal OM clock

If you look closely, you can see that the OM design is created from the images of crystals! Use this pretty tote to carry your yoga clothing or mats to class.
The OM clock will help you keep track of time during meditation or let you know when it’s time to RELAX! Sometimes we need to be reminded to slow down. Time goes by quickly, so please take time to savor every moment.

Buddha Moon baby clothingPeace Bird mug

The Buddha Moon is one of my latest canvas images, and I absolutely love how it looks! The colors and serenity are just what I envisioned. Let your little Buddha baby share the Buddha Moon smile with the world…it’ll make you smile, too!
I took the photo of the lovely white bird at Fort DeSoto near St. Petersburg, Florida. We spent about half an hour together, wandering the shoreline, exploring for treasures. The bird shares a message to “Walk In Peace”…let this mug remind you to do the same throughout your day.

The Peace Bird calendar will give you a daily reminder to “Walk In Peace”. The beautiful white-winged creature was photographed at Fort DeSoto.
How cute can you get? The little tree frog sits above the words, “Good Things Come In Small Packages!” The frog image is available on many other items, too.
Happy Puffer Fish pillowHappy Puffer bbq apron
I love fish, and I especially love seeing a happy fish! This puffer says, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy.” No need to get all puffed up over the little stuff, right? Swim on…enjoy the current…or perhaps just lay your head down on this fun pillow and watch a funny movie!

Having a hard time getting the charcoal to light? Did you burn the steaks? This happy puffer fish tells you, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy!” Just grab a cool beverage from the cooler and enjoy the day, mon!

There’s still time to order for Christmas…and there’s lots of different items in the shop, all imprinted with wonderful art and photography!

And if you’d like a one-of-a-kind gift, I’ve got plenty of canvases painted and ready to ship - just check out the Canvas Catalog on the Eclectic Dawn Arts website.

Many you enjoy peace and blessings during this season,

Holiday Fun

Mom and Jack at Philpott DamWow, here it is well into December, and I’m just NOW posting about Thanksgiving week!! I’ve been so busy lately getting the house ready for a visit from my Mom and stepDad, Jack (that’s them at Philpott Dam)…and airbrushing, and updating the Eclectic Dawn Arts website…

I really miss visiting with my family during the holidays, so we were really excited when Mom and Jack decided to come down from Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. Whew, that sure set up a flurry of tasks in preparation of their visit. Meal planning, grocery shopping, getting out the Christmas decorations so we could trim the trees on Thanksgiving, cleaning, and planning how much fun we could cram into their short visit.

We had so much fun! We shopped, we ate, we went antiquing, I taught them how to hunt for Fairy Stones, we went to Philpott Dam and Visitor Center, we ate, we drank some Biltmore champagne, we built a puzzle, Mom kicked my butt in Upwords, we ate, we shopped, I gave them a little piano concert one night after dinner, and we shared lots of laughs. Oh, and we decorated Bella helps us decorate the tree.TWO trees!

One of our trees is all beachy, with shells, dolphins, fish, bubbles and flamingos. Bella decided to help us decorate…I looked down at Bella while I was putting ornaments on the tree, she had come to sit next to me, and she had a starfish in her mouth, just waiting for me to take it from her! Usually, if she picks up something she’s not supposed to have, she will run and hide with it, so she really must have had good intentions to assist us.

The second tree is our biker tree, which is filled with toy motorcycles and orange and black pinstriped ornaments. My favorite ornament on the biker tree is a little stuffed pig who oinks “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”!

Mom and I cleaned out Hobby Lobby of their glass blocks - Mom showed me how she makes these pretty decorations by stuffing the glass blocks with Christmas lights, then tying a pretty bow on them. She gave me one for the mantle, Glass Block Presentsand it is beautiful!
We also picked up craft supplies for me to make an angel for the biker tree, too. Sorry that picture is rather scary - for some reason the flash made her eyes look demonic - but she is actually very pretty and her eyes don’t like that in person. I made a little biker vest out of felt, and hot glued a triple layer black lace skirt on her. There are pretty black feathers as an “apron” and the burgundy and white flowers are leftovers from my wedding flowers.

Biker AngelMany of my favorite holiday memories are of crafting and baking with Mom - so it was wonderful to do some of our favorite holiday activities together. We even made the scrumptious and very rich crab dip that has been a tradition in our family for years. Mmmmmmmmm.

I feel very blessed. May you be blessed, too.
