The wood bowls feature exotic
tribal influenced artwork, pulling inspiration from Hawaii, New
Zealand, Maori art, Polynesia, tiki culture, Key West, and even
Henna designs!
From the artist: "It's a big world that is growing smaller...the
more I study tribal designs, the more I see the similarities
from around the world instead of the differences."

Signed by Dawn and numbered, no
two are alike! The
numbers translate as: "year---number
of bowl created that year". So, "10 - 01" means it's the first bowl
of 2010.

Sizes are approximate,
as these are freeform shapes! Sizes are listed in inches.

Remember
these are reclaimed (or
"upcycled") bowls, so there may be some
imperfections on the sides or bottoms. I leave bottom tags on if
they have them. The tags tell the type of wood,
or where the bowl was made, or occasionally, where it was sold.

I have
painted the insides with acrylic paint, and the entire bowl has
fresh coats of polyurethane clear coat for a nice sheen. These
bowls are not food-safe, nor for the dishwasher. Just clean the
dust off with a damp cloth.
  Hei Hei Tiki,
~16.5"x 8.5", Number 10-10, $34.95 plus S&H.
Peacock or teal green/blue, tan, black, red; this piece shows a
Maori Hei Tiki face design - doubled! A traditional Maori symbol off
the first man, used either as a memorial to ancestors or to
represent the goddess of childbirth. The full hei tiki is usually
carved of greenstone, thus the color chosen for the background of
this piece.

Pineapple, ~8.75" x 4.75", #10-15,

shimmering gold, black. Simple and elegant tribal design reminiscent
of Berber and Indian henna designs. Paisley, triangles and dots!
Pineapple also means hospitality, so this one is a great
hostess gift.

Pearl blue to purple background, purple and black. The background
shimmers like water due to the pearly paint. This bowls almost glows
and seems to change color as you view it from various angles.

White, Black; "ohana" means "family" in Hawaiian, and here
is
Mama and Daddy Gecko with a nest of eggs! Cool colors and

"Upcycled" vintage monkey pod bowl artworks by
artist Dawn Schmidt Ventimiglia. The tiki face looks like
wood, and the "flame" shapes have a tiny amount of crackle
to the paint, revealing a bit of red underneath. Red to
burgundy background, with black, tan, and yellow for the
design.

Tooth Tiki", ~8 x 5, number 10-11, $24.95 plus S&H. The tiki face
has an evil grin, a gold tooth, and even a goatee - looking out
for those hot rod and rockabilly folks on this one! Pearly blue/teal
background, with red and black - oh, and don't forget the shiny gold
tooth!

white pinstriping simple on this piece. Everything about it
is CUTE and FUNCTIONAL! Features a snap closure, a mirror on
a leash (there's a picket inside for the morror), and a zip
pocket inside the fabric interior. Tuck the strap inside, or
